Hancock Timber Resource Group's (HTRG) assertion on conformance with the Sustainable Forestry InitiativeŽ Standard (SFIS), on its North American-managed lands as of September 9, 2005 is:

As a supporter of the SFI Standard, HTRG's operations conform to the objectives of the SFI Standard (2005-2009 Standard). To ensure conformance with this standard and to provide a process for continual improvement, the HTRG Management Team has developed and implemented appropriate systems and performance measures.

HTRG recently pledged to have all managed lands in North America independently verified for conformance to the objectives of the SFI Standard by BVQi. All HTRG-managed lands in North America are subject to BVQI's audit. We assert that to the best of our knowledge and belief all of the information provided to BVQI in connection with BVQi's audit is accurate and complete in all material respects and that HTRG is in conformance with the objectives of the SFI Standard (2005-2009 Standard). A copy of the objectives can be found at www.afandpa.org.

Report of Independent Auditors

Hancock Natural Resource Group, Inc.
Hancock Timber Resource Group
Hancock Forest Management, Inc.

We have examined management's assertion, included in the accompanying report, that Hancock Timber Resource Group (the Company) is in conformance with the Sustainable Forestry InitiativeŽ Standard (SFIS), 2005-2009 Standard, for all North American woodlands management activities, as of September 9, 2005. Management is responsible for the Company's conformance with those requirements. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on management's assertion about the Company's conformance, based on our examination.

Our examination was conducted in accordance with attestation standards established by the Sustainable Forestry Board and the International Standards Organization's requirements for auditing (ISO 19011) and, accordingly, included examining, on a test basis, evidence about the Company's conformance with those requirements, and performing such other procedures as we considered necessary in the circumstances. We believe that our examination provides a reasonable basis for our opinion. Our examination does not provide a legal determination on the Company's conformance with specified requirements.

In our opinion, management's assertion that the Company is in conformance with the SFIS, 2005-2009 Standard, for all North American woodlands management activities, as of September 9, 2005, is fairly stated in all material respects, based on the criteria set forth in the AF&PA Sustainable Forestry InitiativeŽ (SFI) Program.
