Grays Harbor, Washington

Thirty-year old Sitka spruce and cottonwood, and quiet wetland sloughs characterize these 175 acres of pristine forested wetlands along the Wishkah River in southwest Washington, which the Grays Harbor Chapter of the National Audubon Society purchased from Hancock Timber Resource Group in 2001. This parcel of land filters storm water runoff before it enters the Wishkah, and provides good rearing habitat for young chinook, coho and winter steelhead salmon.
