Hancock Timber Resource Group (HTRG) established integrated forest management operations in 2000 to conduct day-to-day, on-the-ground timberland management services for its investors. These services, which now encompass management of over 3.7 million acres (1.5 million hectares), are customized to fit the physical characteristics of each investor's forest.

The foundation of Hancock Forest Management rests on a commitment to perform leading-edge forest management and environmental stewardship. Our goal is to improve overall returns, reduce costs, improve alignment of interests and provide dedicated forest management, thereby ensuring quality and consistency in managing the forests of HTRG investors.

We realize that these high standards will require continuous improvement in all aspects of our forest operations -- our standards are measured against the industry's recognized benchmarks including the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® program.

All of our North American properties are certified using the SFI® Standard. This means that we uphold environmental principles and performance measures that integrate the growth, harvest and reforestation of trees with the protection of wildlife, plants, soil and water quality.

In short, our sustainable forestry practices embrace a stewardship ethic that focuses on continuously enhancing the quality of our investors' properties, and ultimately, the quality of our investors' portfolios.
