PHILOSOPHY - PARTNERSHIPS

Public and Private Partnerships Protect Sensitive Lands

Our Stewardship Program is perhaps the most tangible way in which stewardship can generate additional income for our investors. This program protects lands deemed to have high scenic, historical, recreational or habitat values, or those that should be managed for purposes other than timber production. Sensitive lands typically are identified during the due-diligence phase of an acquisition. Once identified, we work with various stakeholders to transfer these lands to public or conservation-group ownership. Through outright land sales, we are able to monetize the value of these lands. Sensitive lands sales command fair-market value, as would a traditional land acquisition or disposition.
